Comic Book Communities
So you have an awesome comic collection and you want to show it off. Or you’re new to comics and you just want to learn more about them. Or maybe your “real life” friends don’t share the same passion for comics that you have, and you want to find some new friends to chat with. Well then, you need to find yourself an online comic community. There are many communities out there where you can meet new friends who share the same interest as you. One of the best places that we have found to interact with other comic fans is through Facebook groups. There are many groups on Facebook dedicated to collecting comics, selling comics and showing off your comics, but this is a list of our favorites:
1. I Love Comic Book Stuff
Of Course I Love Comic Book Stuff is going to be on top. It’s the best! It is a nice family friendly group with many perks. If you are a member of this group you can expect to see giveaways, gift swaps, and tons of great conversations between members. The members in this group are more of a family than a facebook group. I personally have made many friends through the group. We strongly participation within the group occasionally we will have a “Participation Award” which is a giveaway contest for the top participants of the group. Sometimes will will make a post, and pick a winner who comments on it and reward them with something without them even knowing they are entering a giveaway.
ILCBS is also the home of the Comic Book Member Cards. If you don’t know what those are, I suggest you join the group and find out!

ILCBS – Local Branches
As an attempt to bring comic fans closer together, we are trying to start local chapters of the ILCBS group. This will allow for easy meet ups, trades, or a number of other meet and greets within the group. So far we have two branches of the I Love Comic Book Stuff group: ILCBS – Virginia and ILCBS – Arizona.
Both groups are pretty small right now, but we are encouraging others to join. If you are in the VA or AZ areas, then please feel free to join. If we get large groups of people in other states that want to create a group, we will do that too.

2. MCBCFA
Make Comic Book Collecting Fun Again (or MCBCFA pronounced Mic-Bic-Fa) is our favorite non related group. This is another family friendly group that is full of some awesome members. I think it would be safe to say that 50% of the MCBCFA members are also in I Love Comic Book Stuff. As Dustin Stabb said: “I Like to think of them as cousin groups.” The community is great and you can count on seeing giveaways, trades, and the awesome MCBCFA coloring book.

3. Comic Book Misfits
Second on the list, is our secondary group: Comic Book Misfits. This is an ages 18+ group and is for all those misfits out there who have naughty minds and want to post more “mature” images. The rules in this group are pretty loose compared to most other comic groups. If you join this group will very frequently see nude comic characters, crude jokes, and fowl language. If you get offended easily, this is not the group for you.

4. The Collectors Corner
Next on the list we have The Collectors Corner. With over 16,000 members, this group is quite a bit larger than most of the groups mentioned above. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. You have a huge community, but your post can also get lost in the mix.
Out of the larger groups however, The Collectors Corner is one of our favorites because the Admin team seems to really be on top of things. They are always staying involved with the group through post and Live Videos. They also try to support comic creators and other comic related business. This is definitely a great group to be a part of.

Admin Team: Josh Shelton, Mike Strickland, Dane Ellingson, Dennis Purish, Christopher Shazam Silva, Justin Ingram, Michael Huffman, Nathan Liberty, Cory Pommell
Buy, Sell, Trade is not allowed.
5. Low Grade Comic Collectors! and BST
This is a fun group for collectors to buy, sale and trade their low grade comics. Repeat that: LOW GRADE COMICS. This means with a grade of 6.0 or less. If you are a collector on a budget, or if you’re looking for that big key comic and can’t afford a Mint or Near Mint copy, then maybe this is the place for you.
Members: 40,500
Admin Team: Nico Felix Capurro, Dennis Walsh, Nick Shipkowski, Chris Lear, Kelly White, Jay Pee, Sean T Jackson
Buy, Sell, Trade is allowed for LOW GRADE comics. You may only offer High grade comics for trade if someone is looking.
6. Comic Book Collecting
If you search Comic Books on facebook, this is probably the group you’re going to find. This is probably the largest comic community on Facebook. If you are looking for the largest audience you can find, then this is the group for you. This group is reaching the 300,000 member mark. While it is the largest group, it doesn’t sit at the top for us because we prefer a group that feels more like a community. It’s very hard to meet new people when there are so many people there. But it’s still a ton of fun.
